Some history of our company...

Coldwater Auction Service can do it all from start to finish; the pre-auction preparation of set-up, the brochures, signs, complete newspaper advertising campaigns, closing statements, and the numerous details that auctions require. We have sold a wide variety of personal property ranging from household items and antiques to multimillion dollar machinery. Coldwater Auction Service can sell your real estate by private treaty or using the auction method.

Coldwater Auction Service was established in 1968 by Ernie Uhlenhake. Upon graduating from Repperts School of Auctioneering in Decatur , Indiana , Ernie went on to get his real estate license. While being a farmer, Ernie had much experience and knew the value of farmland, equipment and livestock. In addition, he also sold many homes and personal property .

The business was growing and Ernie needed more help. His oldest son, Rick, was very interested in the auction profession and enjoyed working with people. In 1977 he also went to Repperts School of Auctioneering in Decatur , Indiana , and immediately got his real estate license the following year. Not only can Rick sell in Ohio , but he also is a licensed auctioneer in Indiana . Being involved in the farming industry gave Rick the knowledge and ability to help you prepare and properly set up your farm equipment for auction.

Ernie s youngest daughter, Brenda, also was very interested in going into the Auction profession. So in 1994 she also went to Repperts School of Auctioneering. Organizing is one of Brenda's best qualities. She will ensure everything is organized and clean. Being friendly with the public, she thoroughly enjoys the auction business.

Ernie was so proud to see the business grow and everything he accomplished over the years. Unfortunately, Ernie passed away in March 2002 from a heart attack. Ernie s mentoring has left Brenda and Rick with the skills needed to continue to grow the Coldwater Auction Service. Their dedicated team of auction specialists stands ready to serve you.
